David Catching SkullFuzz (NOT FOR SALE)
Built for a long time friend, David Catching.
This SkullFuzz had been on my list to build for a long time. I wanted to capture as many features as possible of this very special friend and character.
The SkullFuzz is flocked with cream-white flocking to symbolize the beard. A long search for the recognizable glasses was added so you can’t miss the resemblance. These glasses are flocked in black.
Additionally, larger wing versions of the Roadrunner—referencing the effect we previously created together—have been added to the temples of the SkullFuzz, in the sand color of the desert.
The third eye is a moon projector that, when the SkullFuzz circuit is activated, projects a moon onto the opposite wall or surface. This is, of course, a reference to the famous and legendary studio Rancho de la Luna, the studio of David Catching and his best friend Chunk his dog.
The SkullFuzz already has a permanent spot at the recording console in the studio. Rancho de la Luna is also the only place in the world where all of Dr. No’s effects are housed, and where you can try them out or even use them when you record your music there.
